Lot 477: Ted Williams & Friends Signed Oversized Photo Collection
ITEM DESCRIPTION

With friends like these, who needs a Hall of Fame? The seven signed framed photos of Ted Williams and pals range in size from 2 by 3 feet to 16 by 20 inches, but there is no give in their quality: All are NRMT flush-on-the-bat-head knockouts. Williams handles the autographs on each like a 3-1 fastball down the middle of the plate. One color shot features Williams and an aging Babe Ruth; a dugout steps shot captures Williams with teammates Bobby Doerr and Dom DiMaggio, all of whom signed. Williams discusses ball location in the locker room in another. He slides by Yogi Berra in the most action-packed of the bunch, but the two rivals got together to apply pen to picture. In a beauty pairing Williams and Bill Terry, who was the last player before Williams to bat .400, they are all smiles at what appears to be a Cooperstown function. And a three-panel poster with plaque highlighting the 21 batting titles won between Williams, Stan Musial and Tony Gwynn, all of whom are shown with multiple bats, is lovingly autographed by all three. A love of Williams or tasty wall space are all you need.
