Heavy use includes embedded ball markings on the sweet meat, cleat marks up and down the shaft, tiny wood chippings, and a thick band of pine tar on the handle. There's a rubber cushion donut on the knob. Bat displays as the perfect tool of a blue-collar hero. One can only imagine the crucial base hits that left some of those ball marks.
