The crown logo, assistant captain's "A" and glittery "20th Season 1967-1987" patch place Jay Wells' game-worn 1987 L.A. Kings jersey amongst memorabilia royalty. The details of the crown impress on close inspection. CCM polyester sweater is one of the lighter editions and Wells' took a beating. Board marks, scrapes, scuffs abound on the sleeves: stick cuts (some repaired), punctures, shredding. The "4" in his "24" on the back has been slashed and all decals are stressed. The Kings obtained Wells to toughen up their defense in the '80s, and he provided rugged crease-clearing and points (25 in '87-'88). He gave the purple and yellow additional shades of black and blue.
