One of the most adored pieces in the collection from those who have seen it. Stunning, approximately 18"x12" photograph in its original 21"x16" gold leaf frame shows a young "Kid" before he ravaged the batters of the bigs. Likely dates previous to his major league career, it is a cardboard photograph that has been delectably hand colored. Frame has chipping and matte should be changed (and photo de-acidfied), but the image is in marvelous condition (EX-MT). The frame's cardboard backing has been signed in ink,"Charles 'Kid' Nichols as a Young Man". Interesting how he refers to himself in the third person, the same as today's headstrong athletes.
