Lot 1683: Gerald Ford 2000 Robert Trent Jones Golf Flag Signed In Person
ITEM DESCRIPTION

If you're going to have a golf tournament called The President's Cup, it sure helps to have a real president there. Gerald R. Ford (9.5/10) put his chief executive's pen to this nylon flag from the tournament, held at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in 2000. The U.S. won for the third time that year behind Ken Venturi, but you will be the ultimate winner for flagging down this remarkable keepsake. The flag (NRMT), tastefully preserved in a green plastic frame, is handsomely designed with an embroidered gold cup and the elegant script of the tournament running across it. The Robert Trent Jones Golf Club eagle's crest is also aces. Ford signed thoughtfully in black marker. His handwriting glides across the brass-ringed white nylon as smoothly as a fountain pen on a bill in the Oval Office.
