Bronze of the trainer at Princeton University from 1933 to 1968 was crafted by Brown in the 1940s and honors one of the most beloved sports figures in the history of the college. Zanfrini served as trainer is a variety of sports in 5 Olympics. He is cast kneeling while wearing period dress and a jaunty beret, his right hand on his left wrist, perched on bended left knee, looking much like classic photos of Knute rocnke. Figure of Zanfrini is 7 /2 x 3 x 8" mounted on a round silver base 8 1/2" in diameter and 2" high. Signed by Brown on the cuff of one leg. Tiny hole on the back of the right leg. Base is slightly nicked and dented though this is barely visible at any distance. Green felt is on underside of base. Piece EX-MT and again characterized by Brown's unique multi-toned alloy effect that lends a quality of depth and subtly of emotion.
