The picture ran as part of a Jan. 22, 1957 story on Robinson titled "My Future." The Dodgers informed him in December 1956 that he had been traded to the Giants. Robinson quit instead. The 11 by 13-inch black and white image captivates (EX). The Look stamp is affixed to the back, with the photographer (Arthur Rothstein), title (Jackie Robinson) and issue (Jan. 22, 1957) typed in. Dressed in his winter best with hair turning gray, Robinson looks like an elder statesman with another season in him. It didn't happen. He took a job with Chock Full O' Nuts.
