Lot 38: "The Beatles" Gold Record
ITEM DESCRIPTION
The Beatles segued from the experimental delirium of "Sgt. Pepper" to simpler, visceral and less drugged-out songs on the double LP "The Beatles" -- better known as "The White Album" for its plain white cover -- which featured "Helter Skelter", "Birthday" and (as some would have you believe), their worst-ever song, "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da". This gold record was presented to the Beatles themselves. The disk with its red Capitol Record label is in a framed display with the RIAA plaque and a revamped album cover with a four-shot of the boys. 17 x 21". NRMT.
