Lot 36: John Lennon "Double Fantasy" Platinum Record
ITEM DESCRIPTION
It still hurts to know that John wasn't around to see "Double Fantasy" go platinum, but the album brings solace in the fact that, having grown to a mature man of 40 and learned to accept middle age and tap his sensitive side, John's heartfelt paeans to Yoko and his son Sean are arguably the best songs he ever wrote, including "(Just Like) Starting Over," "Beautiful Boy" and "Watching the Wheels." (Yoko's pop songs are another matter.) Lennon fans will treasure this framed display presented to Capitol Records in which the disk sits against a black backdrop with a silver plaque and the album's cover. 14 1/2 x 21" o/a and NRMT.
