Lot 74: Jimi Hendrix Scarf
ITEM DESCRIPTION
Cooler than cool scarf/bandana that Jimi wore on stage around his head and sometimes around his left thigh invokes the enduring Hendrix image of him in velvet pants and fringed shirt, lefthanded guitar strapped around his neck and raising a peace sign to the drenched, huddled masses at Woodstock.
Jimi's scarves have an eerie power to rekindle the legacy that can be heard in any metal music today, which is why they're always in demand among collectors. This scarf is particularly transfixing, reflecting Jimi's voodoo vibe with a silkscreen pattern of black, white-dotted totems against a white background. Fringe on one side and the scarf appears to have been torn off from a larger piece on the other side. Measures approx. 8 x 32" and NRMT with no tears.
