Lot 1677: Arnold Palmer Rare Double Eagle Signed Golf Ball and Glove

ITEM DESCRIPTION

Reserve: $500.00
Winning Bid:
Auction Date:6/26/2005 9:00 PM EST

UPDATE: The Double Eable was not made during the Invitational Tournament, it was made with this ball on the 4th hole at Bay Hill in April, 2001.
The soldiers in Arnie's Army will want to jump at this one: his golf glove and signed ball that he used to sink a double eagle (called an Albatross the odds of making one is 1-1,600,000 as opposed to a Hole in One being 1-50,000) on the fourth hole of the Bay Hill Invitational tournament. Palmer, with 61 PGA tour victories including seven majors, showed on his home course that he still has it. His signature on the Callaway 2 ball is impeccable for writing on dimples. (He's had practice.) Well broken-in white leather glove with grip holes through the fingers is from Palmer's own ADP line. His umbrella logo is on the brown velcro fastening strip. Palmer, ever the gallery pleaser, also included a signed affidavit on his stationery and an additional autograph on the accompanying book by him, "Play Great Golf." What a package. What a player. Came directly from one of Arnie's former caddy with photo match.
