Agganis, a Boston-area two-sport star, turned down a lucrative offer from the Cleveland Browns to play baseball for the hometown Sox. He had a promising rookie season and was hitting .313 25 games into his second year. But after being hospitalized a second time because of chest pain, he passed away from a heart attack.
