Lot 1333: 1950s Baseball Punchboards with Keychains and Charms (4)
ITEM DESCRIPTION
Four rare baseball punchboards from the '50s recall the heyday of these lotto-style games which were made with many themes (baseball being one of the most popular) and often played not for the cheapo prizes for a winning "punch" through the grid of holes but as a cover for big-money gambling -- leading to them being banned in many states. These nearly pristine yellow boards with red bordes have baseball images splahsed over them, with the prizes for a 5-cent play keychains and charms with mini-mitts, bats and balls. One board 13 1/4 x 17 1/3", 3 others 12 x 14", all NRMT with mild damage on some of the edges and the red border tape on the large game.
