Lou Brock celebrated his 3,000th hit on Aug. 13, 1979, gaining membership into one of Baseball's most elite clubs. This baseball was in play that day, and Brock has ensured its place in history by carefully penning "Lou Brock 3000th hit 8/13/79" on one of its' side panels. The Rawlings' hide has blotched over time, but the NRMT black ink autograph is as good as new. Hit No. 3,000 was a single off Dennis Lamp of the Chicago Cubs, who traded Brock to the Cardinals over 15 years earlier. Isn't that ironic?
