You didn't expect Jim Brown to smile, did you? Signed team photo of the 1959 Cleveland Browns reveals a breeding ground for NFL coaches. Look carefully and you'll see Chuck Knoll, Paul Wiggin, Walt Michaels, Mike McCormack and Jim Shofner, not to mention the man who taught them what they know: Paul Brown (front left). Jim Brown (middle, fourth from left), who rushed for 1,329 yards and 14 touchdowns on a 7-5 team, signed artfully above the "e" in Cleveland. The image, a 10- by 20-inch black and white, has a few large creases that are reinforced with tape on the reverse, plus minor yellowing and fraying. The signatures, all verified in a letter by lineman Bob Gain (rear, fifth from left), show exhibit-worthy staying power.
