These 3 vintage Goldsmith "Guaranteed" Athletic Goods/Football Equipment catalogues from fall/winter 1918, '22-23 and '24 turn the clock back to when some football gear meant leather knee caps and horizontal military-stripe shirts (and when other sports featured things like "middies and bloomers" for lady basketballers). All catalogues come with the actual swatches of material used to make the early football jerseys, in fabrics from flannel to sateen to poplin and colors from maroon to scarlet to "American Beauty" purple. Great color artwork depict intense, leather-helmeted dudes in hip pads on 2 covers and a gridiron guy lacing up his cleats on the other. Covers VG-EX with some folds on the '22-23, contents EX or better.
