The ultimate research source for collectors of sports equipment of yore are collector's items themselves -- the P. Goldsmith Sons Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter sports catalogues. These 5 extremely rare bound volumes from the late 1910s and 1920s, each comprised of several seasonal catalogues, boast photos and descriptions of such vintage items as "Featherweight Rainy Day Waterproof" football pants, Blucher boxing shoes, Official Collegiate Unlined Basket Balls, tophy cups and watch fobs, Panther and Avondale tennis rackets, "Gold Seal" golf irons and woods, knit bathing suits for the ladies, monograms, etc. Of particular interest are the wide variety of baseball items like under and outerwear, gloves like the "Chief Meyers" catcher's mitt and balls with names like "King of the Diamond" and "New York Club." (Two Goldsmith catalogues of baseball uniforms are being offered separately.) Includes Fall/Winter 1919-20-Spring/Summer 1920; Fall 1921/Spring 1922; Spring/Summer 1926; Fall/Winter1927-28; Fall/Winter 1929-30. Cover are green or maroon and VG, contents are EX or better with mild browning but little or no damage and some pages have hand-written notations from the salesman.
