Lot 1511: Mariano Rivera Game Used Glove

ITEM DESCRIPTION

Reserve: $500.00
Winning Bid: $7,798.92
Price Realized: $9,319.71
Auction Date:6/26/2005 9:00 PM EST

Mo has almost always been "Mo-ney" in the bank for the Yankees when called out of the 'pen in the 9th inning. The most heralded closer ever (we won't mention Game 7 against Arizona or Game 5 against Boston), Rivera didn't often have reason to use this game-used glove other than when Jorge Posada threw the ball back to him after a huge strikeout, but it's a symbol of the door that slams shut when he comes in (usually). Black personal model Nike PPro Gold Mo 42 has Rivera's name scripted onto the thumb and his number "42" onto the wriststrap. Fuzzy cushioning on underside of strap. Mitt is EX+ with good use in pocket.
