Cult hero Harthorne Wingo warmed the bench and the hearts of Knick fans in the early 1970s. His game-worn jersey can do the same for any of the Knicks faithful now. Wingo's No. 43 home tank in blue with orange numbers and "New York" lettering in white trim could go several more seasons. Kind laundering and Coach Red Holtzman's stingy playing time allotment have kept the colors in tip-off sharpness. Wingo captured an NBA title in his rookie season of 1972-73 and will always be associated with a winner.
