Lot 1861: O.J. Simpson Prototype Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame Ring
ITEM DESCRIPTION

On craftsmanship alone, the jewelry belongs in a showcase. Given the fame and infamy attached to it, it becomes invaluable. Like him or hate him the juice brought it during his days with the Bills. The lone prototype for O.J. Simpson's Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame Ring sports a diamond the size of a hole-punch, set against a blue gem. The band is a thick gold composite with "Buffalo" and "Bills" and "Honor" and "Roll" above and below the stones. On one side is a Buffalo Bills helmet with Simpson's No. 32 in it, plus a banner overhead that reads "1969-1977" for his tenure with the team. On the other side is the team logo of a stampeding buffalo with Simpson's name waving in a banner overhead. Sparkling details belie a since-tarnished reputation.
