ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||
Spectacular full uniform is vintage White Sox, showing all signs of use and wear from the second baseman who played his first Major League game at the age of 16. Cass Michaels' jersey with matching pants and stirrups was worn during the 1946 regular season. Fading to the uniform fabric as well as all numbers and lettering add character to this vital flannel. Zip-up style jersey with "Chicago" arched across the chest in double-layered tackle twill. Verso is his number, "28." American League baseball patch stitched on left sleeve. Collar tagging is "MacGregor [size] 44" with "Michaels '46" chain-stitched on plate below. Matching pants are tagged in the waist, "MacGregor [size] 38." All show nice use with no team repairs except to the stirrups. Cass Michaels was a kid sensation in 1943 who enjoyed a 12-year career before it was suddenly cut short as result of a beaning which left his vision impaired.
