Ethical or not, many famous athletes have had proxies "sign" autographs for them, including Joe DiMaggio who used his sister. Roberto's proxy was Phil Dorsey, whose collection included these photos with "phantom" Clemente signatures. Rather than out of any deceit, this was done simply to help Clemente sign his fan requests. Thus he's single handedly responsible for most of the fake Clemente autographs in the marketplace. No con game here. These photos are simply too nice to just toss them in the trash because of the signatures, so we have marked them visibly and invisibly, so they will not be sold as genuine in the secondary market.
