A lucky Ohio sportswriter named Tom McRoberts made Hank Aaron's record-tying 714th homer a personal achievement of his own when he got Bad Henry's signature both on a ball used in the game immediately afterward as well as on the scorecard on which he charted the game. The ONL (Feeney) ball, stamped with "Cowhide Baseball, First Use 4-4-74, Cincinnati vs. Atlanta", was signed in the Riverfront clubhouse, "Best wishes, Hank Aaron" in black ink, a signature now a tad faded but a good 7/10. Ball itself is a gem, lightly and smoothly toned. Aaron also signed the scorecard in black ink, grading a 9. Elsewhere in the scorebook are some classic signatures from a '74 Old Timer's Day at Riverfront, including Johnny Mize, Mickey Vernon, Waite Hoyt, Harvey Haddix, Johnny Vandermeer, Don Larsen, Carl Erskine, Harvey Kuenn, etc. These signatures are 8s and 9s.
