Lot 1184: 2004 Sammy Sosa All Star Game Worn Glove
ITEM DESCRIPTION
The mitt Sammy Sosa wore in the 2004 All Star Game should come with a bowtie because it was indeed a special occasion: Sosa's seventh appearance as a National Leaguer. He started in right field, driving in a run with a broken-bat single. There are scrapes in the blue glove's webbing and pocket, plus dirt and perspiration stains in the interior. It was a rough night for the National League, which fell behind 6-0 in the first inning of a 9-4 defeat. Easton's design touches rise to the Midsummer Classic's status. Dominican and Amerian flags are stiched onto a red leather band around the ring finger. Sosa's signature is embroidered on the forefinger. Just smelling the leather makes you want to pat your chest with your fist.
