Lot 1420: 1987 Minnesota Twins World Championship Ring
ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||
The Twins may have been the poor relations of the '87 postseason with a mere 87 wins, but their knack for winning close games -- and games played in the big tent of the Metrodome -- paid off big time. After knocking off the Tigers in a 5-game ALCS, the Twinks prevailed in a 7-game WS against the Cardinals with Kirby Puckett hitting .357 and ace Frank Viola taking game 7, 4-2. This eye-popping Jostens 10K gold ring that belonged to one of the team's coaches sports the Twins' "M" logo in a 3-column blizzard of 15 real diamonds against a deep blue background, circled by "Twins, World Champions". Left shank is engraved "Sierra" above "Minnestoa Tinws". Right shank engraved "1987" above an image of the World Series Trophy, the Twins logo over "4" and the Cards' logo over "3". NRMT with almost no tarnishing or spoliage of any kind. Size 10.25.
