Lot 1489: Original Yankee Stadium Brick from the Charlie Sheen Collection

This seemingly nondescript brick is about the closest one can come to owning a piece of Mecca. From the very foundation (and soul) of Yankee Stadium, it was used in the construction of the Stadium in 1920, where it remained through thick and thin until the mid-'70s renovation when an intrepid New York area collector (and friend) recovered it. 8" long, 2 1/2" thick block has much of its original paint and comes with the lavish 3" gold plaque from the Stadium's 50th anniversary. A great symbol of Yankee mystique, as solid as Lou Gehrig's bat and as earthy as Babe Ruth. The first we have seen in over a decade.
