If a hitting machine is ever invented, this phenomenal photo of the closest thing to a human hitting machine ever invented could be the blueprint. It is an original print of a shot taken of Williams for an article in the September 1, 1941 edition of Life Magazine -- which ran as he was about to ring up a .406 average for the season, the last time anyone has hit the big four oh oh -- shows in stark black and white a grimly focused Teddy Baseball, clad only in shorts, about to begin his famous swing, every inch of him poised to pour all his energy into the cut. Most "striking" is that while Ted is well muscled overall, his forearms especially seem developed and sinewy, a lesson to all who swing a bat. The image displays superior contrast and sharpness that allow it a grade of EX-MT. Matted to 13"x17" and includes a similarly sized & matted original issue cover of a smiling Williams, bat on his left shoulder, the words "No. 1 Batter" above the lower red lower border. The cover is VG with some light wrinkling and a mild tear mainly on the same border.
