Entitled "Eve", this high Art Deco etching dates from the late 1920's, pencil-signed by Louis Icart. The erotic Icarts are most in demand and most rare, bringing the highest prices in specialty auctions. This print has the distinguishing Icart bug, the raised watermark in the border. On the verso, from the original framing is "Published by N.Y. Graphic Society Inc. Etching by Louis Icart 'Eve'". In the late 1920's, the New York Graphic Society represented and marketed Icarts throughout the United States in their art catalogues and outlets. The print has been re-matted and re-framed and has tanned with age.
