Lot 1338: 1947 Rittgers Baseball Wall Plaque
ITEM DESCRIPTION
Great baseball art adorns this wall plaque made by L.L. Rittgers in 1947 depicting three baseball players comically arguing with the umpire. One player has a broken bat and is walking away dejectedly presumably after being ejected from the game. His teammate stands by him in support with tears in his eyes. An opposing player has a big bump on his head and is supporting the umpire in more ways than one. The plaque measures approximately 11 x 9". The bottom reads, "1947 L.L. Rittgers" and the original Suttle and Rittgers sticker is on the back. The original paint is still there (professionally touched up in some spots). A few minor repairs and touch ups have been made, otherwise, NRMT.
