Lot 1490: 1909-10 (E91, Set B & C) American Caramel Collection (38)
Featuring generic color drawings of baseball’s best players, this is the first set issued by the American Caramel Co., encompassing three series issued over a three-year period from 1908-10. Although the obverses are similar, each series can be differentiated by the layout of the team checklists on the reverse. Only six teams were represented (Athletics, Giants, Red Sox, Pirates, Cubs and Senators) with several of the players having more than one card. Includes: 1909 Set B - 16 different w/Archer (VG), Baker (GD-VG), Bridwell, Eddie Collins (GD-VG), Davis, Devlin, Doyle, Ganley, Hartsel, Hoffman (VG), Keause, Meyers, Murphy, Murray, Reulbach, Tenney. 1910 Set C - 22 different w/Barbeau, Browne, Chech, Clarke (VG), Delehanty (VG), Gibson, Hooper (GD), Hughes, Karger, Leach, Leever, Lord (VG), McBride, Milan (VG), Miller, Niles, Street, Phillipi, Speaker (VG w/light crease), Storke, Willis (PR, corner missing), Wagner (FR). Balance of cards grade FR to GD (a few PR), unless noted.
