You’re looking at the most significant and historically important collection of Chicago Whales memorabilia ever assembled! Discovered during the 1980’s restoration in a sealed room at Wrigley Field, it contains some of the freshest material to hit the market. All articles herein pertain to one of the most successful teams in the Federal League, covering the Chicago Cubs and plans for Wrigley Field: a 1914 Whales original program & scorecard from Chicago vs. Kansas City (EX-MT); 1915 Opening day photo featuring Joe Tinker & Fielder Jones (NRMT); original photo of Joe Tinker in Chicago Whales uniform; 1914 & 1915 press passes made out to Malcolm MacLean, reporter for the Examiner; 1915 Chicago Whales ticket stub, bank checks & promissory notes signed by Charles Weeghman; reports regarding Weeghman Park construction (some are signed by Weeghman); original leases for the property on which Weeghman Park (later Wrigley Field) was built; annual expense report for the 1914 Whales (includes Joe Tinker’s salary & total costs to run the team); Federal league unsigned player contracts (2); copies of Federal League By-Laws, Rules & Regulations, & the Articles of Association; shareholders agreements signed by many shareholders including William Wrigley himself; minutes taken from Federal League meetings, correspondence from bankers, builders, etc. The largest assemblage of documents regarding the failed Federal League, and Wrigley Field ballpark, which was originally built to house the Chicago Whales.
