Lot 1312: 1880’s Baseball Flow Blue Stein
ITEM DESCRIPTION
Gorgeous flow blue porcelain stein boasts a beautiful scene of baseball, as it was played in the late 19th century. Uniforms and styles were derived from cricket players in England, and players are wearing no gloves. The catcher is, however suited up with chest protector and facemask. Artwork and the stein itself are nearly flawless, but if you look closely, you can see the tiny cracks formed from age. Some slight toning has occurred in a couple of spots. “Royal Bonn Delft” painted on bottom. Excellent.
