Refined timepiece dates back to the turn of the 19th century. Union Horlogere represents the roots of the German watch brand, DUGENA, founded in the 1890's. The miraculous thing about this fine piece of machinery is the delightful baseball theme on its verso. On the silver backing is a raised image of a batter, catcher and umpire with amazing detail behind them of people watching from their seats. The signature of "Huguenin" appears in raised lettering at bottom left of the artwork. The face is pristine, as is the back, with miraculously minimal wearing of the sculpted work. Elaborate leaf design outlines the face of this beautiful piece. Measures nearly 3" to the top of its chain link. Face is actually 2" in diameter. Excellent condition, fully intact and stunning.
