Lot 1034: 1973-75 Hank Aaron Game Used Bat (35”)

ITEM DESCRIPTION

Reserve: $800.00
Winning Bid: $1,024.70
Price Realized: $1,224.52
Auction Date:6/18/2003 9:00 PM EST

Holy piece of H&B lumber was used by the game’s most prolific homerun hitter during the most crucial and significant period of his career. Model A99 used during the time that Aaron became only the second batter to hit 700 career HRs. He would, of course, go on to beat Babe Ruth’s HR record in the same time period. Could this bat have touched a homerun ball ? One can only imagine. His #44 written on knob, crossed out with another number apparent on the edge of the knob. Hank's faded " 44" was crossed out on the barrel end also. Nice use.
