Al reffered to in letter is Al Schacht.

Written as a manager to one of his players, the letter is addressed to “Al” and content is friendly concern as well as baseball related: “No news down here at all only things are very tight out at the office so looks like you had better bring a crowbar, gun or something when you talk contract. Well I hope the old arm is good as ever -you and Hadley will have to carry the club this year. Well I hope you are fine and still eat right. Sincerely Your Friend, Walter Johnson”. Written on “Washington American League Baseball Club” letterhead (8.5x11”). Original mailing folds. Paper has light tan patina. VG-EX.
