Impressive award presented to Hall of Famer, Nellie Fox for his performance during the 1959 season, in which he was voted American League MVP. Instrumental in the Chicago White Sox first AL pennant season in 40 years. He collected 191 hits and struck out just 13 times (216 times in his entire career out of 9,232 at-bats) with a .306 average. Engraved gold plate on front reads, βTo Nelson Fox of the Chicago White Sox for Most Valuable Player American League 1959 Presented by F.H. Noble & Co.β Wooden trophy adorned with two baseball players and eagle figurines on the lower ledge, a miniature urn with winged figurine on top. Stands approx. 30β tall. Excellent condition. Comes with photo of Nellie Fox receiving the award back in January of 1960.
