Lot 97: Jimi Hendrix Tie Tack, Pouch, Snuff Bottle

ITEM DESCRIPTION

Reserve: $800.00
Winning Bid: $1,650.29
Price Realized: $1,972.10
Auction Date:6/18/2003 9:00 PM EST

A multi-cultural collection of personal items once used by Hendrix. A brightly colored handmade pouch is trimmed with its own unfinished ends. Attached to its braided strap is a blue-gray stone tie-tack with silver clip once used to add flare to his tie, lapel, or scarf. Inside that pouch is most likely where you would find this red painted wood "snuff" bottle (3") decorated with Chinese carvings. Complete with small wooden spoon attached to the cork top. There is even a roach clip in the pouch! We all know what that was used for. This collection of personal effects came from Nancy Reiner with an LOA. She is also responsible for doing the cover art for "Cry of Love."
