ITEM DESCRIPTION

A true member of the pantheon of electric guitars! This is by far the most rare of all Gretsch guitars and is the rarest, most highly desirable guitar in the world. The serial number (26347) places this stunner at 1957, but the specifications appear to be early 1958. Thumbprint inlays and Project-O-Sonic wiring. White finish and set up with a Bigsby Tremelo tailpiece and a Bigsby Bridge. Gold sparkle edge trim adds even more appeal to this lovely instrument. Original metal armrest, some re-gluing and overspray on the neck binding. Comes in the original larger peghead sized snowflake case. LOA from George Gruhn, world renowned author and vintage guitar expert. The "6134" White Penguin is so scarce, it has been mentioned in only two pieces of Gretsch literature. In decades of dealing with vintage guitars, only a handful of these have been seen. The list price for this guitar at the time it was made was $490. A few sold in the 1990's for $100,000 - $125,000. A rare treasure and quite nice to look at.
