A year before Jackie shattered professional baseball's color line, he was showcasing his skill in the International League. Texas League ball is covered with 24 blue ink signatures, highlighted by "Jack Robinson" on the sweet spot. He is joined by other minor league players who went with the New York Yankees including Ralph Houk, Joe Collins, & Jim Turner. Signatures are Excellent, ball is slightly toned to an off-white color. This could have been obtained from an IL All Star game, but we are unsure of this. Jackie was no stranger to the state of Texas, as he was once a player-coach for an all-black college basketball team at Sam Huston College in Austin (1945).
