Hand written letter dated August 1, 1832 was written before he served as President. This was written by "The Little Magician" while he was the United States' Minister to Great Britain. Addressed to "My Dear Sir," the letter is written in black fountain pen and signed, "Very faithfully yours, M. Van Buren." Ink is slightly smudged in his last name. Grades a 7 out of a possible 10. Reverse is addressed to "His Excellency" and stamped from an Albany post office. Paper is evenly toned, o/w EX with original mailing folds.
