Presented is an artifact that would excite even the most advanced archaeologist! This is a near complete box of 1968 Topps football 2nd series cello packs. The second series is a little tougher to find than the first. There are 28 of 36 packs present. Packs are NM-MT to Mint on average except for six packs, which seem to be slightly miss-wrapped at the bottom. Represented in this series is Bob Griese’s Rookie, Jack Kemp, George Blanda, Fran Tarkenton, Mike Ditka, Len Dawson, Ray Nitschke, Fred Biletnikoff, Don Maynard, Jim Taylor, Floyd Little Rookie, Lance Alworth, etc. Two packs feature stars Mike Ditka on one and Roman Gabriel on the other. It appears that there is 11 cards per pack and each pack also comes with one of sixteen ’68 Topps football posters. The provenance behind the box is fantastic as two packs were opened when we received it and all 22 cards look gorgeous! Included were Floyd Little’s Rookie, Alworth, Jim Taylor, and Nitschke! It is very rare to find a near complete cello box like this as many have been opened for grading purposes or socked away by those investment-savvy unopened collectors. Outstanding.
