Noah Webster was most noted for publishing the first truly American dictionary in 1806. Then in 1828 he published An American Dictionary of the English Language, that surpassed the British version. Leather bound book is signed on the endpaper, “Noah Webster”. What’s interesting is bookplate identifies the original owner as Robert Webster Day (probably a relative). The signature is a bit light. The book is entitled The History of Great Britiain – Fourth Volume by Robert Henry D.D. The cover has detached from the book and there is some light foxing.
