A memorable World Series match-up between two New York teams, the Yankees and Giants. Rookie-of-the-Year, Gil McDougald becomes the first rookie in history to hit a grand slam in the World Series as the mighty Yanks prove victorious in collecting their third straight World Championship. Lightly shellacked OAL (Harridge) baseball contains 25 black ink signatures including Mantle, Stengel (signed twice), Berra, Rizzuto, DiMaggio (sweet spot), & McDougald. Ball is EX-MT with a light brown patina. From the Casey Stengel estate. Stengel's number "37" is written on top of "Reach" stamp.
