Lot 1056: 1969 Bobby Bonds Autographed Game Worn Jersey
ITEM DESCRIPTION

At a quick glance, this could be mistaken for a Barry Bonds jersey, but look closely. Before Barry Bonds, there was Bobby Bonds! Not quite the superstar that his son grew to be, but this jersey is a nice acquisition nonetheless. San Francisco Giants home flannel with black felt on orange tackle twill "Giants" blazon across the chest. Black sharpie signature, "Best Always, Bobby Bonds 1969" below right breast. Verso bears the number "25", worn by both father and son for the Giants. "Bonds" embroidered on plate in the collar. Tagging on front right tail is "McAuliffe" with [year] "69" and [size] 42 tags below. "33" and "42" written in collar in faded marker. This was originally a "25" jersey which underwent a number change by the team (to 33"), and has been changed back to "25". Great use to the jersey which is stained from dirt and sweat. Ex Dick Dobbins collection.
