ITEM DESCRIPTION

||||||||||||
Giving us further incite into the origins of our national pastime, this is one of the most antiquated baseball prizes available. Trophy ball emanates from the mid 19th century. Extremely rustic in design and adorned with only red paint reading "Ashland vs. Enterprise Oct. 31st, 1857." The sphere is 3" in diameter. Some foxing and minimal chipping. There is a small hole on the back from where this was mounted. Paint is Excellent and the trophy ball seems to have remarkably defied its age. Ex-Barry Halper Collection.
