A better sweet spot signature than this is hard to come by! Gorgeous black ink from member of the notorious 1919 Chicago White Sox. Ray Schalk was not one of the "8 men out", in fact Schalk, the premier catcher of his day, batted .304 in the Series and almost fought his pitcher when he became aware of what was going on. More than just a Hall of Famer, "Cracker" was an innovator in the catcher's position, starting the practice of backing up throws to first and third base. Signature is so close to perfect, rating a 9.5 out of a possible 10. Shellacked on this NRMT Official Tri-County League ball. Ever so slight cream-colored patina.
