This spectacular pair of “Virginia Brights Cigarettes” cabinet cards represents two of the earliest known photos of female baseball players in existence. Part of a full set of nine subjects, each 5”x7.5” piece displays a high quality image of players demonstrating “the various positions in baseball”. The first specimen features two bib-baring beauties of the “Polka Dot Nine” on a canary yellow colored card with brown detail. Without any significant flaws, it is in EX condition. The “Black Stocking Nine” offering decorated with blue trim and matching text, has two pinholes and exhibits light spotting on the verso but is in otherwise VG condition.
