What we have here is a highly significant jersey from the National League's favorite catcher and the Hall of Fame's newest addition. Ex-Barry Halper collection Montreal Expos road blue jersey is an amazing representation. Not only is it from Carter's rookie season, but it was worn for his entire rookie season, as documented in his letter to Barry Halper. This fact is further evidenced by the wear and use to the jersey. Strong use with some staining from game use has been permanently engrained into the fabric which shows signs of fading and wear to the lettering as a result of repeated washing throughout the season. Carter's original #57, which he wore in '74 was originally placed on this jersey during spring training, and was later replaced with the #8 by the team (on right breast and on verso). Montreal logo on left breast with "Expos" underneath. Right sleeve with embroidered team patch. Blue sharpie signature in collar (slightly bled). Collar tagging is "Wilson [size] 44". Plate with embroidered "75 set 1" on front left tail. This is the most important Gary Carter jersey you can get! Comes with personal letter handwritten to Barry Halper from Gary Carter.
