Lot 1547: Circa 1979 Mike Singletary Game Worn Baylor University Jersey

ITEM DESCRIPTION

Reserve: $800.00
Winning Bid: $769.87
Price Realized: $920.00
Auction Date:6/18/2003 9:00 PM EST

Remembered as Chicago Bears legend and one of the NFL's all-time greatest, most intense linebackers. But the hard-hitting Mike Singletary did some serious damage in college as well (both literally and figuratively!). During his Hall of Fame career at Baylor University, Singletary broke 16 of his own helmets on the field of play, causing equipment managers to come to the games equipped with three extra helmets for him on standby. Green mesh jersey is a fabulous relic from the college days of this overachiever. "Baylor 63" on the front, "63" on the back. "BU" on each sleeve. "Fab-Knit" tag on the back tail with a [size] XL flag tag. Additional tags in collar are "Fab-Knit size Adult X-Large" and "100% nylon". Originally given by Singletary to former college player.
