A rare pennant from the Rockford Peaches of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (1943-1954), a league formulated during WWII. With the major leagues considerably diminished due to the need for American troops in the war, the women’s league flourished as a result of the combination of a highly competitive skill levels and Hall of Fame mangers like Jimmie Foxx, Dave Bancroft & Max Carey. The league survived even after the revitalization of the major leagues, but folded in 1954. The height of the AAGPBL was 10 teams in 1948.
